  If there is no sound from the surround speakers of your Yamaha Receiver, first, verify that the output level of the surround speakers is not set to the minimum; increase the output level if needed. Next, check that “SUR. L/R SP” in SET MENU is not set to NONE; select the appropriate setting for the surround left and right speakers. If you are playing a monaural source with STRAIGHT, press STRAIGHT (EFFECT) to turn on the sound fields.

Next, ensure that “CENTER SP” in SET MENU is not set to NONE; select the appropriate setting for the center speaker. Also, if one of the HiFi DSP programs (except for 7ch Stereo) is selected, try another sound field program.
