9. POWER TAKE OFF (PTO) SYSTEM

Determine the Appropriate Power Take
Off (PTO) Speed
1. At the standard Power Take Off (PTO) speed
(540 Revolutions Per Minute (rpm)), the engine
should be run at 2592 Revolutions Per Minute
(rpm).
2. The RATED mark on the tachometer indicates the
appropriate engine speed.
3. Be always aware of the current tractor speed.
Make sure that the tractor is controllable.
4. When Power Take Off (PTO) switch is in the ON
position:
Always drive below the indicated RATED
Revolutions Per Minute (rpm).
(A) RATED mark
Engage Power Take Off (PTO) (with the
operator on the operator seat)
1. To engage Power Take Off (PTO):
Idle the engine speed.
Pull up Power Take Off (PTO) switch to ON
position (a).
(A) Power Take Off (PTO) switch
(a) ON
(b) OFF
2. Increase the engine speed required for the
implement.
IMPORTANT
When Power Take Off (PTO) switch is in the ON
position:
always drive within or below the indicated
RATED speed

NOTE
Do not stop the engine while Power Take Off
(PTO) switch is in the ON position.
When the operator leaves the operator seat while
the engine is running (with Power Take Off
(PTO) engaged):
the safety interlock system shuts down the
engine
the system also stops all operations on the
tractor
