Note: See Contacts – Editing contacts – Setting a ringtone for a contact for
how to assign a special ringtone to an individual contact.
Turning system sounds on/off
1. Press the Home key > > Settings > Sound & notication > Other sounds.
2. Tap Dial pad tones, Screen locking sounds, Charging sounds, Touch
sounds, or Vibrate on touch to toggle on and off.
Adjusting volumes
1. Press the Home key > > Settings > Sound & notication.
2. Drag the sliders below Media volume, Alarm volume, Ring volume, and
Notication volume to adjust the volume for each type of audio.
Note: You can adjust the media volume when a media application is in use
by pressing the Volume key. Then tap and drag a media volume slider.
Switching to silent mode
You can set the phone to silent mode by using one of the following methods.
Press and hold the Volume down key when no media application is active
to show the ringtone sound management window. Drag the ringtone
volume slider all the way down. When the phone vibrates, it is switched to
silent mode with vibration; press the Volume down key again to switch to
silent mode without vibration.
Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Notication Panel,
and swipe down again to access the Quick Settings. Tap to switch the
phone to vibrate or silent mode (see Knowing the basics – Managing
notications – Using quick settings).
Press the Home key > > Settings > Sound & notication > Notication
mode and select Vibrate or Mute to switch to silent mode with or
without vibration.
Press the Home key > > Settings > Sound & notication > Do Not
Disturb, tap Do Not Disturb and select Always. Tap Disturb rules and select
Total silence to switch the phone to silent mode.
Note: In addition to silent mode and vibration, you can also allow priority
apps to send out notications when you switch the phone to priority
interruption mode.
Using Do Not Disturb mode
You can limit interruptions with Do Not Disturb mode. This mode silences your
phone so that it doesn’t make sounds or vibrate when you don’t want it to.
Turning on Do Not Disturb mode:
1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to access the Notication Panel,
and swipe down again to access the Quick Settings.
2. Tap .
3. Tap Do Not Disturb, and then choose an option:
Tap Never to disable the feature.
Tap Always to enable the feature. Tap the options to set rules.
Tap Scheduled to enable the feature. Tap the options to set a schedule
and rules.
Applying new wallpapers
You can set the wallpaper for the home screen and lock screen.
1. Press and hold any blank area of a home screen.
2. Tap Wallpapers.
