Most apps that send notifications, such as Gmail and
Hangouts, have notification settings that you can adjust.
NOTE: If you turn off notifications for an app, you may miss its
important alerts and updates. The notifications of some apps
cannot be turned off.
Use Quick Settings
The Quick Settings in the notification panel make it convenient to
view or change the most common settings for your phone.
Open the notification panel and touch to find the following
Quick Settings.
• OWNER: Touch the contact icon to open your profile in the
People app. See People – Setting Up Your Own Profile.
• SETTINGS: Touch to open the Settings menu. See Settings
for more information.
• WI-FI / WI-FI OFF: Touch to turn on or off the Wi-Fi feature.
• DATA: Touch to turn on or off data access over mobile
networks.
• BATTERY: Display the current battery status. Touch to open
the Battery menu in Settings.
• AEROPLANE MODE: Touch to turn on or off the airplane
mode.
• BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH OFF: Touch to turn on or off
Bluetooth.
• LOCATION / LOCATION OFF: Touch to turn on or off
location services.
