7.1.1. ZERO CALIBRATION
1. Verify ambient air is free of toxic or combustible gases. If air is not free or cannot be verified free,
obtain a Zero Air gas cylinder (Refer to Section C.3. Confined Space Kits).
2. Power on the device.
3. Press and hold the right button, a screen appears stating release IN 3 SECONDS, continue to
hold it until the ZERO screen display.
4. Press the left button to acknowledge the zero calibration.
5. If the Zero Calibration is confirmed, a screen stating SEN 1 appears. Press left button to select
SEN 1 or press the right button to scroll down the Sensor Types.

6. After a successful calibration the LCD reads ZERO PASS, then press right button or wait for 60
seconds to go to span calibration. Verify the device responds to target gas and activates 1 green
LED flash every 5 seconds, 1 sounding beep every 5 seconds, and 1 vibration every 5 seconds.

THAT IS FREE OF HAZARDOUS GASES.
WARNING: TO PREVENT AN ERRONEOUS ZERO CALIBRATION FROM OCCURRING,
THE DEVICE DISPLAYS IS AIR CLEAN? YOU HAVE 60 SECONDS TO
ACKNOWLEDGE THE ALERT. IF THE ALERT IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGED
WITHIN 60 SECONDS, THE DEVICE RETURNS TO THE LAST STEP. DO
NOT CONTINUE WITH ZERO CALIBRATION UNTIL AIR HAS BEEN
VERIFIED TO BE FREE OF TOXIC AND COMBUSTIBLE GASES. FAILURE
TO PROPERLY PERFORM A ZERO CALIBRATION MAY RESULT IN INJURY
OR DEATH.
NOTE: SEN 1, 2, 3, 4 represent the sensor types that are shown on the LCD (see
Figure 7-1:). SEN ALL represents Zero All Sensors. If selecting EXIT, the device goes
to the SPAN mode.
