A U-tube manometer can be ordered from ABB Turbo Systems for meas-
uring the negative pressure at the filter silencer.
The measurement can be used for the following purposes:
 To measure the correction factor for calculating the turbocharger effi-
ciency during the engine acceptance test.
 The use of a filter mat on the filter silencer can cause a loss of pres-
sure. A significant pressure loss indicates an increase in dirt build-up
in the filter material.
