Before cleaning, the
prerequisites Operating state for integrated dry
cleaning
must be met.
Check that the on-off valve (05) is closed.
Check that combined air valve / pressure-relief valve (07) is in pres-
sure relief position.
Carefully open cover cap (02).
Fill the specified amount of granulate into the container (01).
Tighten cover cap (02).
Open air valve (07).
Open ball valve (06).
Open On-Off valve (05) for 3 ... 4 minutes to clean turbine.
Close the On-Off valve (05).
Close ball valve (06).
Set combined air valve / pressure-relief valve (07) to pressure relief
position.
Check whether the exhaust gas temperature after the turbine has de-
creased.
In order to optimise cleaning, it is important that the specified amount of
granulate get blown in for each cleaning operation.
The drain openings in the gas outlet casing must remain closed when
cleaning the turbine. As a result of careless handling, incompletely
burned soot particles can escape.
If the cleaning operation is not satisfactory, it may be repeated up to
two times.
If the cleaning result is still not satisfactory after three attempts and the
engine values are also unsatisfactory, we recommend that you have the
turbocharger inspected and cleaned by an official ABB Turbocharging
Service Station.
