6. Obtain a blood sample with the aid of
the finger pricker. Blood samples taken
from the palm are equivalent to blood
taken from the fingertip. For detailed
information on how to obtain blood from
the palm, refer to the Alternative Site
Testing (AST) section, steps 5 and 6.
7. Gently squeeze your finger to assist the
flow of blood. This helps you get a blood
drop.
