An electrician can check the motor amperage, and you can temporarily remove the filter to see if capture improves. Consider switching to filters with lower static pressure or cleaning, replacing, or properly positioning the existing ones. Ensure the make-up air unit is functioning correctly, increasing make-up air if needed, and ensuring it's evenly distributed. Adjust or replace the fan to match the cooking equipment load, restrict a second hood to assist the problem hood, open dampers, change to a higher static fan, modify the ductwork, or clear any obstructions.

  If the exhaust fan of your Accurex Ventilation Hood isn't working correctly, replace fuses, reset circuit breakers, and check the disconnect. Replace or tighten the belt. Have an electrician correctly wire the fan. Consult the manufacturer's installation manual. Adjust or replace pulleys to increase fan RPM or install a larger motor. Clean the fan wheel/blade, replace it if damaged, check for loose bolts, broken or damaged components, and remove any foreign objects.

What to do if smoke blows away from my Accurex XXDW Ventilation Hood?

  To resolve smoke blowing away before reaching the bottom of the Accurex Ventilation Hood, turn off or redirect fans. Move diffusers to a more neutral area or replace them with diffusers that direct air away from the hood. Close windows and doors. Find and eliminate the source of the draft, add side skirts to the hood, increase the overhang on the spillage side, or add a 6-inch lip around the base of the hood. Adjust the amount and location of make-up air to eliminate drafts through pass-thru windows. Try turning off or reducing the amount of make-up air and block off portions of the supply to direct air away from the problem area.
