Installation & Programming The Powered Hinge
1 Position the legs on the hinge section of rail as indicated on the
installation drawing.
2 Fix the hinge section of rail to the next section of rail indicated on the
installation drawing using the joint fixing kit as described in the
Acorn 80 installation manual.
3 Position the Acorn 80 rail system in place on the staircase as
indicated on the installation drawing.
4 The hinge interlock switch is located on the underside of the hinge
section, therefore care must be taken not to damage the switch or the
associated wiring whilst handling the hinge.
5 The cabling for the hinge interlock switch and the motor/hinge folded
switch should be run carefully along the rail in the leg fixing bracket
channel to the hinge control box which has been mounted in a
suitable location.
6 The hinge box must be mounted in a position where it will not
interfere with the normal travel of the lift. Suitable positions
would be at the top of the rail or in a corner of the installation.
1 The intermediate charge point can be fastened to the rail at any
convenient position.
2 The charge point is connected in parallel with the standard rail charge
point assemblies using the cable provided.
3 The lift does not have to be programmed to locate the intermediate
charge point. To park the lift, press and hold the red button on the
remote handset, the lift will then run in the up direction until it locates
the next charge point, at which point it will stop.
