out
distributor.
REPLACE.
NOTE:
Some
distributors
have
off-center
pivoting
breaker
plates,
which
will
cause
excessive
dwell
change.
This
is
normal
for
this
type
of
distributor.
See
your
owner's
manual.

Turn
the
test
selector
to
the
RPM
position
and
put
the
range
switch
in
the
LOW
position.

Place
the
2/4
CYCLE
switch
in
the
proper
position
for
your
vehicle
(consult
.
your
service
manual
if
needed).
C.
Connect
the
RED
test
clip
to
distributor
(—)
side
of
the
ignition
coil
and
the
BLACK
test
clip
to
ground.
D.
Clip
the
inductive
pickup
lead
to
spark
plug
wire
(with
the
arrow
on
the
pickup
pointing
towards
the
spark
plug.).
E.
Start
engine
and
let
idle.
On
automatic
transmission
vehicles,
place
shift
selector
in
correct
position
as
specified
by
manufacturer
for
the
idle
speed
test.
F.
Observe
the
LOW
RPM
scale.
NOTE:
Consult
your
owner's
manual
for
correct
idle
speed.
RESULTS:
HIGH
Speed
adjusted
too
fast.
ADJUST.
NORMAL
Speed
adjusted
correcily.
TOO

Speed

slow.

CAUTION:
Place
shift

Neutral
