Usage Features

Control Options:

  • Wall Control (Default): Compatible with ActronAir NEO, LR7-1, and LC7-2 wall controls for comprehensive system management.
  • Basic BMS: Connects to a network via a BMS card (ICUNO-MOD), allowing operation similar to ActronAir wall controls.
  • Wall Control + Basic BMS: Combines both control methods, with priority given to the most recent command.
  • Advanced BMS: For systems requiring customized functions beyond standard software/logic, while retaining safety logic.
  • Third Party Control: Allows control of Fan, Compressor, and Reversing Valve by external systems using 0-10V analogue input or fixed indoor fan speed.

Demand Response Management (DRM): Compliant with AS/NZS 4577.3.1:2012.

  • DRM1 (Compressor Off Mode): Compressor cycles off for the entire event; other functions operate normally.
  • DRM2 (Maximum 50% Power Use Mode): Compressor operates within 0% to <50% of total power.
  • DRM3 (Maximum 75% Power Use Mode): Compressor operates within 0% to <75% of total power.
  • Note: DRM is not applicable when using third-party control.

Remote On/Off: The unit can be wired to be turned ON and OFF remotely from the Outdoor board, configurable via the Outdoor Board menu.

Run and Fault Indication Output: Provides relay outputs (230VAC/5A MAX) for system run status and fault conditions, configurable for either compressor or indoor fan operation.

Refrigerant Charging:

  • R-410A refrigerant must always be charged in liquid state into the unit liquid line.
  • Charging into the high-pressure side is recommended when the system is in a vacuum.
  • During compressor operation, charging can be done through the suction service port (larger of the two shut-off valves) in cooling mode.
  • Subcooling and Superheat method is used for optimal performance.

Maintenance Features

Annual Maintenance Checklists:

  • General Inspections: Perform general maintenance inspections and scheduled start-up checks.
  • Refrigerant Circuits: Leak test refrigerant circuits.
  • Electrical Connections: Inspect, clean, and tighten all electrical connections. Check contacts of all contactors and relays, replacing worn ones as needed.
  • Fans: Check for balanced operation, ensuring no loose screws/bolts, fan blade interference, or damage.
  • Air Filters: Inspect, clean, or replace air filters as required.
  • Panel Sections: Clean and repaint any corroded panel sections.
  • Airflow: Ensure no blockage of airflow through the variable speed drive.
  • Coil Cleaning: Clean condenser coils at least once a year, or more frequently in dusty environments. Use a soft brush and water spray with low pressure. Avoid high alkaline detergents (pH > 8.5) to prevent corrosion. Ensure no water enters electrical compartments.
  • Compressor: Measure insulation resistance and check for abnormal noise/vibrations.
  • Operational Readings: Record operating pressures, superheat, and subcooling values in test cool/heat modes.
  • Safety Devices: Check calibration of safety devices (HP/LP controls, sensors).
  • Fault History: Investigate any causes for previous faults and reset fault history.

Safety Precautions:

  • Only licensed HVAC technicians should install and service the equipment.
  • Observe all prevailing WH&S regulations and safety instructions in the manual.
  • Ensure unit installation complies with relevant council regulations and building codes.
  • All electrical wiring must be in accordance with current electrical authority regulations and diagrams.
  • TURN-OFF power from the main isolator and observe LOCK-OUT/TAG-OUT (LOTO) procedures before any service work.
  • Wait at least 5 minutes after power isolation for EC Motors and Compressor Drives to discharge residual voltages.
  • Ensure fans are isolated and stopped before servicing. Beware of pinch points and sharp edges.
  • Always wear appropriate PPE.
  • Refrigerant handling must be done responsibly, recovering, recycling, and reusing refrigerants. Never release refrigerant to the atmosphere.
  • Evacuate the system thoroughly to 500 microns before charging.
  • A leak test is always required on any repaired section of the refrigeration system.
