    Why does my AcuRite Thermometer have no outdoor sensor reception?

      If your AcuRite Thermometer shows no bars for outdoor sensor reception, try the following: First, relocate the display unit and/or the outdoor sensor, ensuring they are within 330 ft (100 m) of each other. Next, ensure both units are at least 3 feet (.9m) away from electronics that may interfere with wireless communication, such as TVs, microwaves, and computers. Use standard alkaline batteries (or lithium batteries in the sensor when the temperature is below -4ºF/-20ºC), and avoid heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries. Note that it may take up to 20 minutes for the display unit and sensor to synchronize after batteries are replaced.

      If the outdoor temperature on your AcuRite Thermometer is flashing or showing dashes, it could be due to wireless interference. Try bringing both the sensor and display unit indoors and removing at least one battery from each. Make sure the A-B-C switch on both units match. Reinstall the battery in the outdoor sensor, then reinstall the battery in the display unit. Let the units sit within a couple of feet of each other for about 20 minutes to establish a strong connection.

      If your AcuRite Thermometer lost power or had its batteries changed and the time is not correct, the Intelli-Time battery needs to be replaced. Once the new battery is installed, the time and date will need to be set manually.

      If the display screen on your AcuRite Thermometer is not working, first check that the batteries are installed correctly and replace them if needed. If that doesn't work, reset the display by pressing the RESET button, located on the back of the display unit inside the battery compartment. Note that you will need to enter the date and time after a reset.
