3.1 FRAMEWORK
Framework (see Figure 3.2) is intended for mounting the main System parts. The frame-
work may be divided into four areas:
- The base plate (position 1, see Figure 3.2) is for mounting the System on working
place;
- Side sections (position 2 and 4, see Figure 3.2) are for structural rigidity and used to
mount the System external covers;
- The top cover (position 3, see Figure 3.2) is covering the System from above and
forming portal.

3.2 PORTAL
The Portal is a U-shape tunnel (see Figure 3.3), which is mounted into the framework.
During the scan procedure a person is placed in the portal. The portal inside has an X-ray
transparent covers.
For ensuring a high quality of the image, the portal should be as
firmly fixed to the floor as possible and there should not be a
