Uneven lawn surfaces
If the lawn has an uneven surface,
there is a risk of damage to the blades
as they may hit the ground. This should
be avoided altogether to ensure the
robotic mower’s full lifetime. Level the
rocky area and fill any gaps with soil.
If levelling is not possible, this section
should be completely excluded from
the cutting area with the boundary
wire.
Flower beds
If the rocky area contains flower beds
that need to be protected with bound-
ary wire, there are two options for this,
as follows:
Cable as obstacle
If you want the robotic mower to follow
the cable around the flower bed, the ca-
bles must be parallel with at least 10 cm
distance and with a minimum of 20 cm
around the flower bed (see picture 1).
There must be at least 80 cm distance
from the edge to the flower bed (see
picture 3). The total length of the ‘is-
land’ must not exceed 28 m measured
from the edge/long side.
Cable without obstacle
2. If you want the robot to run over two
parallel cables, they must be very close
together with a maximum distance of
5 mm (and not cross). Here, however,
it will be necessary to place an obstacle
(e.g. stone, pipe) at position A (see pic-
ture 2) to ensure that the robot does not
just run around in circles. There must
be at least 80 cm distance from the
edge to the flower bed (see picture 3).
Note: Position A must be a flat area and
must not be on a slope. There must be a
minimum of 0.5 x 0.5 metres of flat area
around position A.
