Before You Begin
Install and connect your ICP RAID controller and internal disk
drives (see page 35).
Create a bootable array (see page 43).
Create a driver disk (see below).
Creating a Driver Disk
Note: You will need a floppy disk to complete this task.
To create a driver disk:
1
Set your system BIOS so that your computer boots from the CD drive.
(For instructions, refer to your computer’s documentation.)
2 Turn on your computer, then insert the RAID Installation CD
included in your RAID controller kit.
3 Follow the on-screen instructions to get to the ICP Start Menu.
4 Click Create Driver Disk, then select your operating system.
Linux only—If prompted, select your operating system and the
architecture:
Intel 386 or 486 computers—Select i386.
Pentium I or II computers—Select i586.
Pentium III, IV, or AMD K-6 computers—Select i686.
AMD Athlon computers—Select Athlon.
5 Select your floppy disk drive letter, then select the format you want.
(You need a full format only if your floppy disk has never been
formatted or may have bad sectors.)
6 Insert the floppy disk, then click OK.
The system creates the driver disk.
7 Remove and label the driver disk.
