Some Mpro Trip Units have two output relays that can be
assigned to the following funcƟons:
-- GF Alarm
-- Over-current trip (GF, INST, LT, ST)
-- Reduced Instantaneous (RELT) AcƟve
-- ProtecƟve Relays
-- Current Alarm 1
-- Current Alarm 2
-- Health status
The trip units must have the speciĮc opƟon enabled (as an
example protecƟve relay must be present and enabled in order
to allow the funcƟon to actuate the relay).
n addiƟon to the in- and outputs indicated above the Mpro type
N Trip Units also can receive inputs from external voltage
condiƟoners. All Trip Units can be opƟonally supplied by a +24
VDC control power supply.
(Note: external +24 VDC control power is required for
communicaƟon.)
All trip unit types have a connecƟon to an auxiliary switch within
the breaker that senses the breaker’s posiƟon.
2.1.4.1 COMMUNICATIONS
External +24 VDC control power is required for communicaƟons.
Mpro Trip Units of the S and N type can opƟonally support
Modbus communicaƟon protocol. In addiƟon,
Modbus connecƟons are made directly to wiring terminaƟons
located at the circuit breaker top. Internally all Modbus
connecƟons are ran through the trip unit’s top connectors,
which mate with a receptacle on the breaker frame.
The Trip Units are fully compliant with Modbus Protocol. Full
details of the Modbus protocol can be found in the Modbus
Protocol SpeciĮcaƟon.
Two wire Modbus 485 is supported.
The link Host may operate at a 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600
or 19200-baud rate.
2.1.4.1.1 Modbus
The Mpro Trip Units can provide the following over current
protecƟons:
-- Long Time (ProtecƟon against Overload currents) LT
-- Short Time (Time delayed ProtecƟon against Short circuit
currents) ST
-- Instantaneous
(OpƟonal ProtecƟon against Short circuit currents) I
