When refitting the cover first locate it on the
bottom tag second locate the two side tags and
then replace the screws.
Using an Existing NEMA 14-50R
Receptacle
From January 1, 1996, the National Electric
Code requires that new construction (not
existing) utilize a 4-conductor connection to an
electric range.
A UL-listed range power cord rated to at least
30 amps with 125/250 minimum volt range is
required. A 50-amp range cord is not
recommended.
NOTE: A 4-conductor cord must be used when
the appliance is installed in a mobile home or
when local codes do not permit grounding
through the neutral.
WARNING:
The range is shipped with a ‘grounding
strap’ from the center Neutral connection
to the Ground connection. For 4 wire
connection this lead must be removed
and discarded.
Fitting a 4 Wire Power Cord
Remove the electrical connection cover to gain
access to the connector block and bracket.
WARNING:
The range is shipped with a ‘grounding strap’
from the center Neutral connection to the
Ground connection. For 4 wire connection this
lead must be removed and discarded before the
4 wire power cord is fitted.
NOTE: Do not install the power cord without
a strain relief.
The range is shipped with reducer plates fitted
to the mounting bracket to give a 1
1
/
8
’’ diameter
opening. For power cord connection remove the
two reducer plates (2 screws) to give a 1
3
/
8
’’
opening.
Fit the strain relief device to the mounting
bracket by removing the two clamping screws,
feeding the two halves (ears first) through the
hole in the mounting bracket and loosely refitting
the screws. Insert the power cord through the
strain relief device but do not tighten the device
yet. Connect the leads to the connector block as
shown in the picture. Make sure the connections
are tight. Now tighten the stain relief device to
clamp the power cord.
