General Information
Electrostatic Discharge
Reducing Potential for ESD Damage
The suggestions that follow may help reduce ESD damage that occurs
during instrument testing and servicing.
Before connecting any coaxial cable to an spectrum analyzer
connector for the first time each day, momentarily ground the center
and outer connectors of the cable.
Personnel should be grounded with a resistor-isolated wrist strap
before touching the center pin of any connector and before removing
any assembly from the unit.
Be sure all instruments are properly earth-grounded to prevent
build-up of static discharge.
