Operation
in
"MULTCH"
Mode
The
envelope
curve
which
has
been
set
is
generated
each
time
you
blow
into
the
mouthpiece
or
each time
the
pitch
is
changed
by
touch
ing
another
note
key
or
touching
the
same
note
key
again.
Thus,
this
mode
is
appropriate
for
playing
non-legato
or
staccato,
and
for
non-
sustained
curves.
Ex.:
However,
be
careful
of
the
following
when
the
envelope
curve
is
sus
tained
or
the
release
time
is
long:
Ex.:
Staccato
"Mi"

The
sound
is
staccato
if
you
change
pitches
even
while
blowing
continuously
into
the
mouthpiece.

to
this

Thus,
the
release
time
for
each
note
is
cancelled
out
and
becomes
attack
time,
producing
an
unnatural
clicking
sound.
If
"Do",
"Re"
and
"Mi"
are
played
as
in
the
example,
the
set
release
time
will
only
be
applied
to
the
final
"Mi".
The
clicking
sound
can
be
suppressed
by
changing
the
values
of
the
sustain
level
and
attack
time.
Ex.:
If
Ihe
attack
time
is
short
and
the
sustain
level
is
high,
there
well
be
no
clicking
sound.
There
are
limits,
however,
so
it
is
best
only
to
use
"MULTCH"
mode
for
non-sustained
percussive
sounds.
