8. Additional functions
Additional functions of the radio can be accessed using the two special buttons on the left-
hand side.
Two of the functions Monitor, Scan or FM radio can be assigned to the programmable side
button (see 7.3.9 and 7.3.10 on page 26).
8.1. Monitor
The monitor function deactivates the squelch temporarily, allowing you to hear all signals
including noise. The monitor function is very helpful if you want to adjust the volume or receive
weak signals, which would be suppressed by the squelch.
8.2. Scan
The device automatically searches all channels for signals. The behavior when a signal is
found depends on the “Scan mode” setting (see 7.3.4 on page 26).
8.3. FM radio
When the FM radio is activated, you can set the desired frequency using the ▼/▲ buttons or
directly using the keypad. You can start a FM station scan with the # button, which automatically
tunes to the next available station.
8.4. Flashlight
Use the ashlight button on the left side of the device to switch the ashlight between off, on
and emergency light.
8.5. SOS alarm
Press and hold the ashlight button on the left-hand side of the device to activate alarm mode.
Depending on the conguration (see 7.3.3 on page 26), the alarm is only played from the
device’s loudspeaker or also sent on the current channel. Press the PTT button to exit the
alarm mode.
