Dual-homed ring application

The figure below shows an example of a dual-homed ring application. Similar to the
single-homed example in the previous chapter, access to the STM-N network is
through two hosts. This may be preferable to the single-host application where
completing the STM-1 or STM-4 ring may be difficult due to geographical features. It
also provides protection against node failure through the second host node.
