Stone Countertop Care:

- Cleaning: Clean stone with a mild non-abrasive soap and water. In bathrooms, rinse the vanity top frequently with clean, hot water to prevent soap scum buildup.
- Sealing: The stone is factory-sealed, but reapplication of a penetrating non-toxic sealer is necessary over time. Frequency depends on sealer quality and usage. A food-safe sealer is not typically necessary for bath areas.
- Stain Removal:
  - Oil-based stains: Remove with acetone, mineral spirits, or ammonia.
  - Organic stains (coffee, tea, juice): Remove with hydrogen peroxide mixed with a few drops of ammonia.
  - Water spots/rings: Buff gently with 00 gauge steel wool.
- Scratch/Nick Removal: Small nicks and scratches can often be removed by buffing with 00 gauge steel wool. Larger scratches, chips, and resilient stains may require professional help from a local stonemason.
- DOs: Use preventative cleaning, apply sealers as directed, blot spills quickly, wash with mild soap and warm water.
