PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTION
Winch will not operate
while tracks are turning.
Accumulator system malfunction. Check for:
1. Proper leakdown time as described in Figure 3-8
of Service Manual.
2. Leaking accumulator valve.
3. Leak in accumulator lines.
4. Damaged or defective accumulators.
Low oil pressure. Refer to “Low Oil Pressure” troubleshooting item
above.
Defective PTO shaft. Inspect PTO shaft and coupling, clutch shaft bevel
ring gear and PTO shaft pinion gear for wear or
damage. Inspect magnetic suction screen.
Forward or reverse oil
clutch not engaging.
Low oil pressure. See “Low Oil Pressure” troubleshooting item
above.
Low forward or reverse clutch
pressure.
See troubleshooting for “Low Forward or Reverse
Clutch Pressure” item above.
Inadequate piston travel. Remove the access cover and place the winch in
gear while visually checking the clutch for piston
movement.
Worn friction discs and separator
plates.
Replace the friction discs and separator plates if
too thin, scored or distorted. Refer to Section 4 of
Service Manual.
