      Low oil pressure in Allied Systems Winches can be caused by several factors. Check for leaking pressure hoses and fittings, replacing components as necessary, and ensure hoses aren't rubbing on gears or winch components. Also, check, clean, or replace the suction filter if it's clogged. If the oil brake is leaking internally, indicated by low brake pressure, repair as required. Clean and adjust the oil relief valve, replacing it if defective, especially if there's no pressure. Check its pressure with a gauge. Check the control valve spool travel. Check the pump pressure output after all other checks have been made. Replace the hydraulic pump if it's defective, indicated by pressure variation with engine RPM.

      If the brake in your Allied Systems Winches does not release or the winch stalls during a low RPM shift, first refer to the 'Low Oil Pressure' troubleshooting section. Then, turn the modulator screw IN to release the brake earlier and increase the sequence differential if the pressure modulator is set too low. Check the accumulator system for correct leakdown time, leaking accumulator valve, leaks in accumulator lines, or damaged accumulators. Inspect the brake piston and piston housing cavity for damage, replacing if scored or broken, and always replace both seals when the brake is repaired. Finally, refer to the 'Low Forward or Reverse Clutch Pressure' troubleshooting section if there is low clutch pressure or low oil pump volume.
