The AlphaSmart 3000 can print directly to a large number of printers by
using a specially designed parallel printer cable or Apple printer cable
(serial). Printers currently supported by the AlphaSmart 3000 are listed in
the Support Section of our website at www.alphasmart.com
Printing directly from an AlphaSmart 3000
1. The first time you use a printer, press option-print to access the printer
setup menu. Use the arrow keys to select the appropriate printer from the
list given. Your chosen printer will be indicated by a plus sign (+) in front
of the printer name. Press enter to leave the menu.
2. Connect the serial cable or AlphaSmart 3000 parallel cable from the
AlphaSmart 3000 serial port (on the left-hand side, marked
“printer”) to the printer serial or parallel port. The parallel cable is
specially made and is not available from computer stores—it has
