Overview

This document is an owner's manual for the Alpine Metal Tiered Waterfall Fountain, Item # CPS182.

Function Description:

The Alpine Metal Tiered Waterfall Fountain is a decorative water feature designed for both indoor and outdoor use. It creates a soothing ambiance by mimicking the sounds of a real waterfall, with water trickling down multiple tiers. The fountain is constructed from durable metal, giving it a modern industrial design. It operates by circulating water using an electric pump.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Requirements: Standard Household 120V
  • Water Capacity: 13 ¼ US Gallons / 50 Liters
  • Tubing Diameter: ½" I.D.
  • Pump: P180 (replacement part number)

Usage Features:

  • Assembly: The fountain requires assembly, which involves placing the fountain base, attaching the fountain top, connecting tubing, and securing components with wing nuts and bolts.
  • Water Filling: Water should be gently poured into the fountain basin, ensuring the pump is completely submerged without overflowing or splashing. Distilled water is recommended to prevent scale build-up.
  • Initial Operation: When first operated, it may take up to 5 minutes for air to be completely expelled from the pump and for water to flow properly.
  • Flow Adjustment: The water pump's flow can be adjusted to personal preference.
  • Water Level Maintenance: Regular addition of water is necessary as water will evaporate over time.
  • Placement: The fountain base should be placed on a smooth and level surface.
  • Electrical Connection: The pump plugs into a standard household power supply. It's crucial to ensure no water is around the plug and to keep the power source in a dry place.
  • Splashing: Some splashing may occur during use.
  • Environmental Considerations:
    • Do not operate the fountain in temperatures below 41° F / 5° C or above 90°F / 30°C.
    • Disconnect and store the unit in a dry place if not in use for an extended period or during freezing weather.
    • Alpine products are not manufactured to withstand extreme temperatures, and improper storage allowing water to freeze within the product is considered negligence and voids the warranty.
    • The use of "hard water" and/or caustic cleaners can affect the painted or other finishes and will void the warranty if the unit is not kept clean.

Maintenance Features:

  • Pump Cleaning:
    • Always unplug the pump from the electrical outlet before cleaning or handling.
    • If the pump is making abnormal loud noises, disconnect it from the electrical supply. Remove the front cover and plate. Turn the water flow adjuster to the Left/Counter-Clockwise to turn down the power supply and to the Right/Clockwise to turn up the water flow. Carefully grip the impeller and gently pull the impeller/rotor assembly out of the pump housing. Rinse the impeller/rotor assembly and clean the cavity with clean water. If breakage or damage is found, contact your local retailer for parts.
    • Periodically change water and clean the pump to keep it free from microorganisms.
  • Water Quality: Use with clean water only; do not place the fountain and/or parts in any other liquid.
  • Paint & Color: The use of water will cause natural erosion to the color over time. The paint is designed to protect the finish against color breakdown. All finishes will gradually fade and discolor. Severe or complete fading within the first year from the date of purchase (excluding natural erosion) is covered under warranty. Touch-up paint kits (RTD102) are available, including primer, thinner, 7 paint colors, applicator, and sealer.
  • Fountain Care: Fountain care formula (PPL102) is available for foam and scale removal for indoor and outdoor fountains. Americana® UV Acrylic Sealer (RRR106) provides a protective clear coating for all painted surfaces.

Troubleshooting:

  • Pump Fails to Run:
    • Check the circuit breaker or try a different electrical outlet to ensure the pump is receiving power.
    • Check the pump discharge and tubing for kinks or obstructions.
    • Flush any buildup obstructing water flow with a garden hose.
    • Check the rotor by removing the front cover and plate to access the impeller area. Turn the rotor to ensure it is not jammed or broken.
  • Pump "Spews":
    • Check the water level to ensure the pump is completely submerged and there is enough water in the basin to operate the fountain. Insufficient water will cause the pump to spew.

Warranty Information:

  • Alpine products are constructed from high-quality materials. In the event of manufacturing defects, Alpine will repair or replace the product at their discretion within the warranty period.
  • A valid proof of purchase with the date clearly indicated is required. Photos of defective merchandise are also necessary to help determine the cause of the defect.
  • The item is covered under a one-year limited warranty from the date of purchase.
  • The warranty covers only the individual defective component, not items with multiple parts. Replacement parts may be available through the original seller or approved parts retailer.
  • When requesting replacement parts due to a warranty claim after 30 days of purchase, credit card information will be requested for shipping charges.
  • Warranty Exclusions: The limited warranty does NOT cover damages due to:
    1. Damages caused in transit.
    2. Inadequate care and/or neglect.
    3. Environmental and/or natural elements.
    4. Immersion in water, unless specified.
    5. Improper installation/storage and/or maintenance.
    6. Accident, misuse, negligence, improper installation, and/or modifications.
    7. Freezing water damage, hard water damage, or failure to keep the unit clean and free of harmful additives (e.g., bleach, chlorine) that affect paint and/or parts.
  • The warranty does not cover additional charges for installation, removal, disposal, shipping costs, or consequential damage associated with any warranty claim.
