The inactivity timer controls how long the relay
will wait without receiving any messages on
the rear port before it reverts to its default state. This includes revoking any password access
that was enabled. The inactivity timer can be set between 1 and 30 minutes.
If either EIA(RS)232 or EIA(RS)485 is selected for the port configuration, the following cell is
visible and selects the communication speed (baud rate):
RP2 baud rate
19200
Courier communications is asynchronous and three selections are available to allow the
MiCOM P54x communication rate to be matched to that of the connected equipment. The
three baud rates are supported by the relay, ‘9600 bits/s’, ‘19200 bits/s’ and ‘38400 bits/s’.
The following three figures show examples of the second rear Courier port configured for
application using K-Bus, EIA(RS)485, and EIA(RS)232 respectively.
