Manual
3.5.5 Surcharge
This type of discount adds a fixed fee to the calculated parking fee.
3.5.6 Rate to Change
This type of discount changes to an alternate rate for rate calculation.
3.6 Discount Methods
There are two types of discounts that are processed by the OPUS Paystation.
eParcVal validated tickets
eFlexPrint QR barcodes
3.6.1 Validated Tickets
eParcVal validated tickets are marked as validated at the database level of the
parking system. This means tickets do not require re-encoding or an additional
barcode.
After an entry ticket has been validated, the customer approaches the
Paystation and inserts their entry ticket. The Paystation searches the database,
verifies the ticket is validated, and applies the validation to the total fee due.
3.6.2 QR Validations
QR validation coupons are generated using the eFlexPrint module. QR barcodes
can be printed and given to the customer or sent to the customer via email.
Emailed barcodes can be read directly off of a phone if necessary.
After a barcode validation is created, the customer approaches the Paystation
and inserts their entry ticket. The fee is displayed to the customer and the
customer is given the opportunity to scan a validation coupon. The customer
scans the validation in the FlexScan/receipt printer pocket and the discount is
applied and immediately reflected on the displayed fee.
