Connecting to Your Computer
When you connect Kindle to your computer you can
transfer books, newspapers, music, and other files. You
can also convert and transfer personal MSWord, PDF, and
other documents.
Learn More: For a complete list of the things that you
can do when you connect Kindle to your computer,
see Chapter 6 in the Kindle User’s Guide.
Your Kindle comes with a USB cable to attach Kindle to
your Windows or Macintosh computer. When attached to
your computer, your Kindle screen will display a connected
message and will not be useable as a standalone device.
Attaching the USB Cable
To connect Kindle to your computer, follow these steps:
1. Plug the USB cable into an available USB port or
a powered USB hub on your computer.
2. Connect the USB cable to the USB port at the
bottom of your Kindle. (See “Bottom View of
Kindle,” earlier in this guide.)
