Removing and Replacing the Back Cover
This section explains how to remove and replace the back
cover on your Kindle.
Removing the Back Cover
You will need to remove the back cover to:
• Insert or remove an SD card
• Reset your Kindle
• Replace the Kindle battery
To remove the cover, follow these steps:
1. Turn your Kindle over so that the back cover is
facing you, as shown in the illustration.
2. Turn the power off.
3. Slide the back cover off by pressing the cover
firmly with your thumbs and pushing it away from
you.
