The funnel halves of the measuring funnels are differently marked on
the front- and on the rear side (I, II, III, IV). To each individual funnel
half belongs a grey marked row of collecting trays (I, II, III, IV). The
horizontal scale lines serve as valuation of the fertiliser level.
For valuation place both measuring funnels side by side on a level
ground. Place the measuring funnel with the mark I / II on the left
hand side and the measuring funnel with the mark III / IV on the right
hand side.
Pour the fertiliser collected in the collection trays into the relevant
funnel halves. Value the lateral distribution with the aid of the fertiliser
level in the four funnel halves.
For a spread pattern with a good fertiliser lateral distribution (as illus-
trated in (Fig. 1) and collected in the spreading test hall with 20 col-
lecting trays per 10 m working width) the fertiliser levels of all funnel
halves (I, II, III, IV) should be the same also when using the mobile
fertiliser test rig.
In fact, however, the fertiliser level in funnel half III is by 0.5 scale
lines and the fertiliser level in funnel half IV by 1 scale line less than
in the funnel halves I and II.
These fertiliser losses within the overlapping range result from the 12
cm high collecting trays which here screen part of the collecting area.
