The solution must also contain:
20 mL/L HCl
20 mL/L HNO

The deviation of the specified element concentrations must not exceed 0.5%.
Greater deviations may adversely affect the analytical performance.
II. Organic applications:
For organic applications, a one-time wavelength calibration with the aqueous ICAL
solution must first be performed. Subsequently, the relevant reference spectra
must be recorded. For a detailed description, refer to the online help of the
instrument.
Commercial solutions for the wavelength calibration, optimization or equipment
check are available from your local SPECTRO organization.
In order to proceed with the wavelength calibration, follow the instructions below:
1. Start the plasma.
2. Flush the sample introduction system for approx. 10 minutes.
Use distilled water for aqueous applications.
3. Select the wavelength calibration symbol in the navigation tool bar.
At the bottom of the window, the current calibration and the status of the
calibration are displayed. Click the “Start Wavelength Calibration” button in
order to calibrate the optics.
The information box communicates whether the calibration has been
completed successfully or if errors occur.
The optics is now calibrated.
