NOTE

Some

computers/terminals

trap

certain

control

codes

for

internal

use

and

do

not

transmit

them

to

the

printer.

Adding

128

to

the

decimal

value

of

the

ASCII

Code

sets

the

eighth

bit

of

the

binary

data

word.

Substituting

this

value

for

the

desired

code

may

by-pass

the

trap

and

get

the

code

to

the

printer.

Examples

of

technique

in

BASIC

are

shown

in

Appendix

A.

The

Communications

Link

Controls

are

defined

as

those

printing

controls

which

can

be

established

remotely

by

the

data

source

(computer)

through

data

word

(byte)

instructions.

printing

record

or

in-line

control
