is

expected

to

compute

its

own

LRC

and

transmit

an

LRC

Character

(LRCC)

following

the

ETX.

The

printer

will

then

compare

the

LRCC

received

against

its

own LRCC.

If

no

communications

errors

occurred,

and

the

LRCC's

match,

an

ACK

is

transmitted

by

the

printer.

If

errors

are

detected,

the

transmitted

code

is

NAK.

Subse-

quent

actions

are

the

same

for

STX/ETX.

The

LRCC

character

calculation

is

made

by

nulling

a

register

and

then

XORing

each

character

transmitted

exclusive

of

the

STX

but

including

the

ETX.

The

result

is

then

transmitted

as

the

char-

acter

immediately

following

the

ETX.

- When

errors

are

detected

and

the

data

block

is

cancelled,

certain

ESC

sequences

are

not

cancelled.
