  If your Aprilaire Thermostat display is blank, here are a few things you can check: * Ensure the circuit breaker is on and reset it if necessary. * Confirm the power switch at the heating and cooling system is turned on. * Verify the furnace door is securely closed. * If your thermostat is battery powered, make sure fresh AA alkaline batteries are correctly installed. Additionally, if the thermostat has entered an error mode, it will attempt to recover every 10 minutes. If the error persists, try using the reset button to return all settings to the factory default.

  If your Aprilaire Thermostat's cooling system isn't responding, and "COOLING" appears on the screen, check for 24VAC at the equipment on the secondary side of the transformer between power and common. If voltage isn't present, investigate the cooling equipment to find the problem. Also, check for 24VAC between the cooling terminal (Y) and the transformer common. If 24VAC is present, the thermostat is working correctly, so check the cooling system. Verify there are no loose or broken wires between the thermostat and the cooling equipment. Finally, ensure the System Mode is set to Cool, and the temperature level is set below the current room temperature.

If there's no voltage, examine the heating equipment. Also, check for 24VAC between the heat terminal (W) and the transformer common; if present, the thermostat is working, so check the heating equipment. Inspect for loose or broken wires between the thermostat and the heating equipment. Lastly, make sure SW1 (Equipment Type) is correctly set to match your heating/cooling equipment.
