7.8 Calibration test / Regulation of the seed rate
To determine the desired spread rate, you should perform a calibration test.
Proceed as follows to perform the calibration test:
1. Remove the meter roll
cover, which is located
underneath the blower fan
over the partition plates.
2. Loosen the two star knob
screws for the calibration
chute and push the chute
up through the elongated
slots so that is positioned
between the partition plates
and then fasten it again with
the star knob screws.
3. For the calibration tests,
please use the container
supplied to collect the seed.
4. Using the formula shown
under Point 7.7, calculate the desired spread rate per minute.
5. The speed required to achieve the desired spread rate can be found in the
corresponding seeding tables (see Point 7.7).
6. The determined speed for the meter roll is set using the control box (detailed
instructions can be found in the original operating instruction for the control box
5.2).
7. The calibration test will now be automatically performed (for exactly one minute)
while the seed runs over the calibration chute without losses.
8. Now you must weigh the calibrated and collected seed quantity.
9. The required setting value can be found by correcting the speed for the meter roll
and repeating the calibration.
10. You can also make slight adjustments to the spread rate using the bottom flap
(brush adjustment, see Bottom flap (brush adjustment) 7.3).
11. The listed points must be repeated until you have reached the desired spread rate.
12. After beginning operation, you should verify the spreading on the field. In
particular, check the forward speed, the spread rate and distribution of the baffle
plates.
13. We recommend repeating the calibration test after seeding on 1 ha.
