Feeder and hopper
Feeder screw
Wether a standard screw or another screw model is used, it is important to follow
the instructions for the actual screw.
Pellet hopper
The hopper must be designed to avoid too much dust and shavings in the boiler
house when refilling the pellets. It must be possible to remove the feeder screw for
cleaning with-out emptying the hopper.
If the screw length is too short, it is recommended to arrange an intermediate
hopper to which a feeder screw with standard length can be connected.
Fuel quality
The burner can work with most sizes of clean wood pellets. Pellets with 6 or 8 mm
diametre are recommended. Larger pellets do not give the same good combustion
result.
Fine pellets with few fine fractions (shavings) and even quality always give better
combustion and less operational trouble. The pellet quality should therefore comply
standard CEN/TS 14961.
