•Extremesinhematocritmayaffecttestresults.Hematocritlevels
less than 30% may cause falsely high readings. Hematocrit levels
greater than 54% may cause falsely low readings.
•Inaccurateresultsmayoccurinseverelyhypotensiveindividuals
or patients in shock. Inaccurate low results may occur for individuals
experiencing a hyperglycemic-hyperosmolar state, with or without
ketosis. Critically ill patients should not be tested with blood glucose
meters.
•Triglyceridesupto3,000mg/dLdonotsignicantlyaffecttestresults.
However, glucose values in specimens beyond this triglycerides level
should be interpreted with caution.
•Normalendogenous(withinbody)naturallevelsofuricacid,
ascorbate (vitamin C), bilirubin, triglycerides, and hemoglobin do not
interfere with your blood glucose results obtained.
•ExternallytakendrugsL-dopa,dopamine,methyl-dopa,
acetaminophen, and ibuprofen will not interfere with
GLUCOCARD™ 01 blood glucose results when taken at therapeutic
concentrations.
