Troubleshooting Scenarios
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Ascom Myco 3
Voice quality is bad. Increased traffic load or interfer-
ence. Network settings are not
prioritizing the voice network.
Bad coverage.
– Connect to another phone
(wired, analogue or external) to
define if it is the other end that
may cause bad quality.
– Make a site survey and check
for areas with under-, or over-
coverage and other interfering
802.11 systems.
– Do a network performance test
to ensure the wired LAN/
backbone has adequate capacity.
– Use a spectrum analyzer and
look for non 802.11 interference.
Configuration recommendations
for an optimized VoWiFi
environment are not followed.
Follow the recommendations
described in 4.7 Wi-Fi Configura-
tion Recommendations, page 13.
For additional reference. please
read Ascom VoWiFi System,
System planning, TD 93358EN.
Connected call but no sound, or
one way sound.
Muted or bad speaker/
microphone, or IP addressing
fault.
– Check if a handset is muted.
– Use the Factory mode (in the
opened dialer, type *#66#) to
eliminate problems with speaker
/ microphone.
– Note the IP address of the
handset. Turn the handset off
and ping the IP address. If
something is found, the problem
is an IP address conflict.
The ring tone when making SIP
calls from the handset differ from
the tone normally used in the
country.
SIP calls from the handset always
use the same ring tone,
regardless of region. This tone
might not match the local tone
used tone for cellular calls.
1
Configure the ring tone for SIP
calls in Settings > Ascom
settings > Ascom VoIP> dialing
Tone patterns (for more
information, see Configuration
Manual, Ascom Myco 3,
TD 93309EN).
The handset calls an emergency
number when trying to call
another handset, or when calling
an international number.
2
The number sequence begins
with the same numbers as an
emergency number. Usually the
handset receives a list of locally
used emergency numbers from
the SIM card, but if no SIM card is
inserted a general list of possible
emergency numbers is used
instead.
If the handset is used without a
SIM card, insert a SIM card to
limit the number of possible
emergency numbers.
1. Only for Wi-Fi handsets, or Cellular versions without SIM.
2. Cellular version of the handset.
