6 Troubleshooting Scenarios
This chapter contains information on how to solve common operational problems.
6.1 Handset Errors
The following section covers common system, software, and hardware-related problems that might be
encountered when using Ascom Myco 3 handset, together with suggestions on how to troubleshoot them.
6.1.1 System Related
Network (Wi-Fi):
Fault Probable Cause Action
The handset’s connection is
often lost when walking around
(roaming).
Bad coverage due to badly
planned network.
Make a site survey, and move, or
add APs.
The channel complies with the
used regulatory domain but it is
disabled on the handset.
Enable the missing channel by
doing the following:
On the handset, go to the
Settings > Ascom settings > Wi-
Fi > Select channels. Choose the
required channel.
The handset is unable to connect
to a Wi-Fi network using a hidden
SSID.
Automatic Wi-Fi selection doesn't
work with networks using hidden
SSIDs.
To connect to a network with a
hidden SSID select it as the
active Wi-Fi network through
Settings > Network & Internet >
Wi-Fi > Add Network (under the
list of available networks).
Exclamation mark is displayed
next to the Wi-Fi indicator.
The exclamation mark indicates
no Internet connection for the
current Wi-Fi.
Please contact an administrator if
the limited connectivity causes
issues.
Calls (SIP/WI-Fi):
Fault Probable Cause Action
No ring signal when a call is
received.
The Ringtones & notifications
volume is set to Silent or Vibrator
only.
Increase the volume by pressing
the Volume button (+), or by
adjusting the sliders in Settings >
Sound.
The loudspeaker is defective. Use the Factory mode (in the
opened dialer, type *#66#) to
check if the loudspeaker is
working. If then the loudspeaker
is faulty, send in the handset for
repair.
Calls are temporarily (approx. 90
seconds) not able to be placed.
The administrator has made a
parameter change that affects
the PBX registration.
Wait until the call can be placed.
