Filler and drain plugs on water-cooled compressors
Procedure
Step Action
1 Run the compressor until warm.
Stop the compressor.
Close the air outlet valve.
Switch off the voltage.
Wait a few minutes.
Depressurize by unscrewing the plug only one turn to permit any pressure in the system
to escape.
2 Loosen the vent plugs on top of the oil coolers.
3 Drain the oil by removing the drain plugs.
Plugs are fitted on the:
•
Air receiver / Oil separator with drain point
• Element outlet
• Drive motor
• Gearbox
• Oil coolers of air-cooled compressors
• Oil filter housing
• Hose between the oil filter housing and oil coolers of water-cooled compressors
Tighten the plugs after draining.
