5.1 AIR FILTER

5.1.2 RECOMMENDATIONS
New elements must also be inspected for tears or punctures before
installation.
Discard the element (4) when damaged.
A dirty safety cartridge (3) is an indication of a mal-functioning air
filter element. Replace the element and the safety cartridge in this
case.
5.1.3 CLEANING THE DUST TRAP
1. To remove dust from the dust trap pinch the vacuator valve (6)
several times.
5.1.4 REPLACING THE FILTER ELEMENT AND THE
SAFETY CARTRIDGE
The instructions apply to one air filter and should be repeated for
both air filters of the compressor.
1. Release the snap clips (1) and remove the dust trap cover (2).
Clean the inside of the cover.
2. Withdraw the filter element (4) and the safety cartridge (3) from
the housing (5).
Discard the filter element when damaged.
A dirty safety cartridge (3) is an indication of a malfunctioning
filter element.
3. Reassemble in reverse order of dismantling.
4. Inspect and tighten all air intake connections.
The Atlas Copco air filters are specially designed for
the application. The use of non-genuine air filters may
lead to severe damage of the compressor element.
Never run the compressor without air filter element.
Replace the filter element and the safety cartridge at
the same time. New elements should be inspected for
tears and punctures before installation.
The safety cartridge cannot be cleaned.
