5.4.2 Replacing filter elements

Step Action
1 Drain fuel from the bowl.
2 Remove filter (2, 3), filterelement (4) and separate bowl (2) from element (3).
3 Apply film of gas oil to new bowl seat.
4 Screw bowl (2) to new element (3) tightly by hand.
5 Apply film of gas oil to new element seals.
6 Screw on filter (2, 3) and filterelement (4) tightly by hand.
7 Open head vent and operate pump (5). Close vent when fuel begins to purge.
8 Check for leaks, retighten if necessary.
Step Action
1 Open bowl drain valve (1), operate pump (5) and pump water out.
2 Close drain valve (1).
