13. On the Homel ink® keypad inside the vehi-
cle, firmly press and hold the Homelink ®
button previously programmed in phases
1 and 2 for two seconds and release . Re-
peat this sequence
twice.
• Some vehicles may req uire t he press/hold/
rele ase sequence up to t hree t imes to com-
plet e the t raining process.
• HomeLink® should now activate your rolling
code equipped device .
If the 5 minute t ime limit is exceeded, t he
emergency flashers will fla sh one time t o in-
dicate that the process has been termi nate d.
In th is case, repeat steps 4 throug h 9.
If the emergen cy flashe rs do not flash three
times (aft er about 15 - 60 seconds), program -
ming was not successful. In this case, repeat
steps 4 through 9.
Remote control unit s for garage door openers
in Canada a re set to stop transmitting radio
frequency signals after two seconds . This time
may not be sufficient for the Homelink ® sys-
tem to learn the radio frequency signal. Per-
form all other steps as described above .

same manner as the original handheld re-
mote control that come with the system.

Reprogramming a single button

A HomeLink® button can be reprogrammed
individually without affe cting the other but-
ton allocations.
Programming the overhead keypad
• Press t he appropriate Homelink ® button
until the indicator light begi ns flash ing
slowly .
At the radiator grille

Point the original remote control to the
middle of the radiator gr ille of your vehi-
cle

2. Hold t he original remote control at a dis-
tance between 0- 5 in. (0- 13 cm) (use the
sho rtest distance pos sible).
3. Press and hold t he act ivat ion but t on on
t he remo t e cont rol.
4 . The emerge ncy flashers will flash
th ree
times
(after about 15- 60 seconds) when
the programming is successful. Now re-
lease the button on the remote control.
• If the dev ice utilizes a rolling code, please
follow phase 3 of r=;, page 139, Program-
ming the HomeLink® transmitter
for rolling
code programming.
This procedure will cause the existing pro-
gramming on the Homelink ® button to be
erased!
Erasing the programming of the
Homelink ® transmitter

When you erase the programming, the pro -
gramming on all three of the transmitter
channels with be lost!
