- Always connect POSITIVE(+) to POSI-
TIVE(+), and NEGATIVE(-) to NEGATIVE
(- ) ground post of the battery manager
control unit.
- Check that all screw plugs on the battery
cells are screwed in firmly. If not, tighten
plugs prior to connecting clamp on nega-
tive battery terminal.
- Please note that the procedure for con-
nect ing a jumper cable as described
above applies specifically to the case of
your vehicle be ing jump started . When
you are giving a jump start to another ve-
hicle, do
not connec t the negat ive (- ) ca-
ble to the negat ive( -) term inal on the

Emergency towing
with commercial tow

General hints
Your Audi requires special handling for tow-
ing.
The following information is to be used by
commercial tow t ruck operators who know
how to operate their equipment safely.
- Never tow your Audi, towing will cause
damage to the engine and transmi ssion.
- Never wrap th e safet y chains or winch ca-
bles around th e brake lin es.
- To prevent unnecessary dam age, your Audi
must be t ransported with a flat bed truck .
- To load th e vehi cle on to the fl at bed, use
the towing loop found in the vehicle t ools
and atta ch to the front or rear anchorage
¢ page 320 and Q page 320 .
A WARNING
A vehicle being towed is not safe for pas-
sengers. Never allow anyone to ride in a
vehicle be ing towed, for any reason.
