tailed in for ma tion on ev ery GPIB com mand for the 2700 se ries, along with
gen eral pro gram ming in for ma tion, code ex am ples and ref er ence ma te rial.
The com mand de scrip tion sec tions of the 2700 Se ries GPIB Pro gram mers
Ref er ence Man ual show AP2700 soft ware con trol pan els for each of the ma jor
fea tures of the 2700 se ries. Each panel is il lus trated with GPIB com mand call-
outs to help you con vert your AP2700 soft ware setup to GPIB com mands.

Using both GPIB and APIB for Software Development
Ev ery 2700 se ries in stru ment has an APIB port on the rear panel. The GPIB
op tion adds a GPIB port and con fig u ra tion DIP switches and in di ca tors. The
rear panel switches pro vide a means to se lect which port is to be used to con -
trol the in stru ment, and to as sign the in stru ment’s GPIB ad dress. Dur ing the
soft ware de vel op ment pro cess you may switch be tween the two con trol modes
in or der to take ad van tage of the in ter ac tive de vel op ment en vi ron ment of the
2700 se ries control soft ware.
The two ports can not con trol the in stru ment si mul ta neously. You must se -
lect ei ther GPIB or APIB as the con trol port. When the GPIB port is in con -
trol, the in stru ment’s APIB port must be dis con nected from the APIB in ter face
card in the com puter.
