Hardware Overview
The 2700 se ries in stru ment hard ware in cludes in put and out put con nec tors,
rang ing and sig nal con di tion ing mod ules, dig i tal sig nal pro ces sors, mem ory,
and other cir cuitry needed to per form au dio mea sure ments. It is con nected to
the con trol ler PC by the Au dio Pre ci sion In ter face Bus (APIB). This chap ter
de scribes the con nec tors, con trols and in di ca tors on the in stru ment front and
rear panels. For a full list of hard ware spec i fi ca tions, see Chap ter 6.
When or dered in the op tional GPIB con fig u ra tion (SYS-27xxG), a 2700 se -
ries in stru ment can also be con trolled by the in dus try-stan dard IEEE 488.2
Gen eral Pur pose In ter face Bus (GPIB). GPIB op er a tion is not cov ered in this
chap ter. See Chap ter 7 for more in for ma tion about the GPIB con fig u ra tion.
All sig nal gen er a tion and measurement is per formed in the 2700 se ries in -
stru ment hard ware, in clud ing stor age of sig nals ac quired for DSP wave form
dis play or FFT anal y sis.
The SYS-2722 Front Panel
The SYS-2722 in stru ment front panel, shown in Fig ure 11, in cludes the dig -
i tal and an a log in puts and out puts, sync and mon i tor con nec tors, a head phone
jack and vol ume con trol, and the mains power switch and power in di ca tor.
