The left-most switch in the bank sets the con trol mode, in de pend ent of the
GPIB ad dress switch set tings. Click the switch to 0 (down) to set the con trol
mode to GPIB.
The APIB port must not be connected to an Audio Precision
APIB interface card when the GPIB mode is selected.
Review the cautions in the previous section.
Set the switch to 1 (up) to set the con trol mode to APIB. The APIB mode
dis ables the GPIB in ter face (the pins are all set to the high-im ped ance state)
and en ables APIB to con trol the in stru ment.
GPIB Status LEDs
The six GPIB Sta tus LEDs shown in Fig ure 73 in di cate the cur rent sta tus of
the GPIB bus. When an LED is il lu mi nated, the sta tus in di cated is as fol lows:
§
SRQ (SRQ in ter rupt)
The in stru ment has as serted the SRQ line in or der to re quest ser vice
from the GPIB con trol ler.
§
GPIB
The in stru ment is un der the con trol of the GPIB in ter face, set by the con -
trol mode switch. The APIB con nec tor will be driven in ter nally by the
in stru ment GPIB in ter face board.
§
TA (Talk Ad dressed)
The in stru ment is talk ad dressed by the GPIB con trol ler.
§
LA (Lis ten Ad dressed)
The in stru ment is lis ten ad dressed by the GPIB con trol ler.
§
MAV
The in stru ment has one or more bytes in the out put queue and has as -
serted the MAV (Mes sage AVail able) bit in the Sta tus Byte Reg is ter.
§
ERR
The in stru ment has de tected an er ror con di tion that has not been re ported
to the sys tem con trol ler. This LED goes off when the er ror con di tion has
been re ported in re sponse to the :ERRM? or :ERRS? er ror queries.
GPIB Program Message Terminators
When the in stru ment is ad dressed as a lis tener, two pro gram mes sage ter mi -
na tors (PMT) are sup ported:
§
EOI line as serted with the NL char ac ter (ASCII 10, the line feed char ac -
ter);
§
EOI line as serted with the last byte of a mes sage.
