Why is there hard water at the tap with my Autotrol 255-960 Control Unit?
    • C
      colejohnAug 3, 2025
If you find hard water at the tap when using your Autotrol Control Unit, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if there is enough salt in the salt storage tank; if it's low or empty, refill it and manually start a regeneration cycle. Also, verify that the salt setting is appropriate for your water hardness and usage. If the unit didn't regenerate, check the power supply. A plugged injector can also cause this issue; clean the injector and screen. Lastly, the air check valve might be closing too soon; inspect and replace or repair it if needed, and check the brine line connections.

What to do if the brine tank overflows with my Autotrol Control Unit?
    • J
      James RobertsAug 9, 2025
If your Autotrol Control Unit brine tank is overflowing, it could be due to a few reasons. The brine valve disc 1 might be held open; manually operate the valve stem to clear any foreign matter. Also, valve discs 2 and/or 3 might not be closing during brine draw, causing a refill; manually operate those valve stems as well. Check the brine line for air leaks leading to the air check. Finally, the salt setting might be too high; refer to the provided table for suggested settings.

Why does my Autotrol 255-960 Control Unit not draw brine?
    • L
      Lauren WilliamsAug 15, 2025
If your Autotrol Control Unit does not draw brine, it could be due to several reasons. Low water pressure could be the cause, so try increasing it. A restricted drain line can also prevent brine draw, so remove any obstructions. Check the injector and screen for blockages and clean them if necessary. Valve discs 2 and/or 3 might not be closed; manually operate the valve stem to flush out any foreign matter. Lastly, the air check might be closing prematurely, so inspect and replace or repair it if needed, and check the brine line connections.

    • M
      morgan12Aug 20, 2025
